The Eberspacher Hydronic 3 D5E CS range is a powerful, fuel-operated water heater designed for passenger cars and transport vehicles. Delivering 5 kW of heating power, it efficiently heats the interior, warms the engine, and defrosts windows.
The Hydronic D5E is a compact, proven 5 kW water heater that uses an independent coolant system to provide hot water and hot air quickly. The small coolant circuit ensures rapid warm-up, producing hot water within the heater unit. The unit features an indirect plate heat exchanger consisting of a series of plates that separate freshwater from the coolant, creating two independent circuits. Heat transfer occurs as the freshwater circuit passes over the coolant circuit plates. A thermostatic mixer valve controls the hot water temperature to ensure a consistent temperature for showers and taps, with hot water ready in about 5-10 minutes.
The Eberspacher RV heater is usually mounted externally on the vehicle, while the plate exchanger takes up minimal interior space. Blower units are installed where heat is most needed, such as the living area and rear. The automatic blower control switch, equipped with an external temperature sensor, regulates room temperature by adjusting the fan speed. The greater the temperature difference measured by the sensor and the set temperature, the faster the fans operate. Fan speed decreases as room temperature approaches the desired setting.
Operation:
Once activated, the HS3 water heater uses the vehicle’s fuel to heat the coolant via a heat exchanger. The heated coolant circulates through the heating circuit, passing through the freshwater storage tank and blower heaters, propelled by an integrated water pump. The Eberspacher Hydronic 3 D5E is self-regulating and functions similarly to a domestic central heating system.Key Features:
